Jose Herazo-Osorio
Biography
José Herazo-Osorio was born in Barranquilla, Colombia where he studied art and worked as a journalist and cartoonist for Colombian newspapers, such as El Espectador and El Heraldo. In 1969 he moved to Florida, USA, where he currently lives. He is an experienced traveler with great interest in art galleries and museums that he always visits during his trips. He is an acute observer of nature and human behavior that he absorbs to project in his art. Herazo-Osorio has participated in juried art exhibits winning awards for the quality of his art. His paintings show the disintegration of human experiences through color and movement. His art carries the bright colors and constant movement of forms from tropical lands that are the origin of his existence. He exhibited at The Biennale 2011 at Museo d’ Arte di Chianciano Terme in Italy where he received the Third Prize award from the Anglo Italian Academy of Arts and an Honorary Mention from Museo d’ Arte di Chianciano Terme. He has exhibited in several venues in Europe, USA and Colombia, including Gagliardi Gallery in London, Affordable Art Fair in London, Icosahedron Art & Music Gallery in New York, Coral Springs Museum of Arts, Davie Historical Museum, Glass Gallery, Salon de las Americas in Coral Gables, Design Gallery of the Americas in Miami, The Raymond F Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Centro Colombo-Americano in Barranquilla and Bogota among others. José Herazo-Osorio is a Member and Docent of PAMM – Pérez Art Museum Miami (former Miami Art Museum), Locust Projects in Miami, and ArtServe in Fort Lauderdale.
