Biography
Ariel Chavarro Avila was born near Bogota, Colombia in 1970. Ariel works predominantly in the medium of painting, particularly in oil and watercolor. His love of art began as a child, with a special fascination for colour an nature. From 1992 Chavarro attended both the Fashion Design School Arturo Tejada Cano, followed by Universidad de los Andes, where he specialised in Fine Arts. He counts artists including Kandinsky, Constable, Matisse, Chagall, Braque, Picasso and Dali as his main source of inspiration.
Throughout the 1990s he has had solo shows in Bogota, Medellin, and Cali. From 2000-2012 he resided in Madrid, Spain, where he continued to exhibit his work.
After a successful period 2012-2016 living and working in London, U.K. Chavarro Avila has acumulated more than 30 solo shows, and more than 50 collective exhibitions in Colombia, Europe, and in U.S.A. Art collectors, museums, and art foundations, are buying his artworks for their private collections. He is collaborating with some galleries, art dealers, and some charities.
